This is the learn to scuba dive course allows you to become certified on the Great Barrier Reef at the lowest price in Cairns. The training centre is excellent, and the pool is huge at 4 metres maximum depth. After the first two days of pool and theory training you’ll be ready to spend two fun-filled days diving the Great Barrier Reef on two day trips where you will complete the minimum required four training dives.
Dive Course Starting Dates: 30 Jan - 21 Feb 2012 is unavailable due to maintenance. Otherwise, This course is available in English and Japanese on the following days each week.

Each day begins at around 8am and ends at around 5pm.

More Information about this Dive Course:
After this 4 day course you will receive certification which is a PADI internationally recognised Open Water Diving License. Day one and two of the dive course are conducted at a specialist Diver Training Facility in Cairns from 8.30am - 4.30pm each day. Day three and four are conducted at the Great Barrier Reef where you will be carefully instructed in groups of no more than four students per instructor. The dive course includes daily hotel pick up and drop off from Cairns city hotels, but does not include any accommodation. The practical component of your course is completed over two day trips from 8.30am - 5pm each day.

For those customers whose first language is not English there is also PADI textbooks (the scuba diving manual) available in a range of other European and Asian languages but you must be able to speak and understand English enough to be able to understand the English speaking instructor.

Important Information
Some medical conditions will prevent you from diving. Some of the more common conditions are Asthma, Diabetes, Epilepsy and heart or lung conditions. Pregnancy is also a contraindication to diving. Some other medical conditions may also be a problem. If you are unsure about any specific condition please contact us.
The minimum age to participate in this course is 12. There is no maximum age. Children under the age of 15 must be accompanied by a parent or adult over the age of 18 years.
Pre-requisite for this course is the ability to swim at least 200 metres unaided and to be able to tread water for ten minutes. This is tested in the training pool before going to sea. You will also require a current Dive Medical. A Dive Medical can be arranged for you, on the first day of the course or you can do it yourself at the Cairns 24 Hour medical Centre (corner of Grafton and Florence Streets) A copy of the dive medical questions are attached to this email.
Flying After Diving: We recommend that you do not fly for at least 24 hours after diving. This means that the earliest you should fly is 12 pm (midday) on the day after your dive course ends.
