If you want to save some time, you can complete your pool and theory work at a dive training centre before you get to Cairns, and complete just the practical part of the course at the Great Barrier Reef! That's right. This course involves three days and two nights at sea, and all your practical dives will be completed whilst exploring the Great Barrier Reef.
Courses Commence
- English: Daily except Tuesday
- German -Thursday and Sunday
- Japanese - Wednesday and Saturday
Departure Times: Cairns 07:00am and Cairns Beaches 06:30am and returns at 16:30 and 17:00pm.

Or, call to book on + 61 7 4036 3562 from outside Australia or 1800 681 685 (free call) from within Australia. A 25% deposit is required at the time of booking, with the balance payable on the first day of the course. Once receive your booking request and deposit and have confirmed the availability, your booking confirmation will be emailed to you shortly after (between 8am-6pm). We don't suggest waiting till you get here to book this dive course as you may not be able to enrol at short notice. Government reef tax, fuel levy & port charges of $60 per person are included in the prices in the rates table below.
More Information:
Once your paperwork has been checked and approved and you have got your AS4005.1 Dive Medical, usually on the day you arrive to Cairns, you are ready to take the plunge and complete your PADI open water Scuba Diving course.
3 days and 2 nights practical experience including up to 9 dives at the Great Barrier Reef on board one of three multi-million dollar dive boats, purpose built for outer reef diving, make this the ideal Learn to Dive Course for people who have limited time in Cairns.

Pickup or Departure Point Details:
This tour includes a hotel pick up and drop off from your Cairns or Northern beaches accommodation.
Optional Extras:
Digital Underwater Camera's are available for hire at a cost of A$40 per dive.
What is not included:
* A Dive Medical must be obtained within Australia to standard AS4005- AU$55.00 (2010-11) payable direct to the doctor - must be prior to the commencement of the dive course. Children under the age of 15 must be accompanied by parent or guardian during the medical assessment. Australian Medical Standards are different to those overseas. A medical obtained in another country will most likely not be valid in Australia.
Important Information
Some medical conditions will prevent you from diving. Some of the more common conditions are Asthma, Diabetes, Pregnancy, Epilepsy and heart or lung conditions. Some other medical conditions may also be a problem. If you are unsure about any specific condition please contact us.
The minimum age to participate in this course is 12. There is no maximum age. Children under the age of 15 must be accompanied by a parent or adult over the age of 18 years.
It is in your best interest to check in with us the day before departure to ensure that all your referral papers are valid and in order.
Flying After Diving: We recommend that you do not fly for at least 24 hours after diving. This means that the earliest you should fly is 12 pm (midday) on the day after your dive course ends.
