Ribbon Reefs, Cod Hole and Remote Coral Sea reefs - If you are looking for the best Great Barrier Reef diving experience that goes to the most remote and pristine reefs then this trip is for you. This 4 day 4 night Great Barrier Reef scuba dive adventure will take you to the famous Cod Hole and then 200km on to one or two remote outer reefs in the deep blue Coral Sea known as Osprey and Bougainville reefs. You’ll fly from Cairns heading north to the gorgeous Lizard Island before you are transferred to your dive boat for up to 15 amazing dives at pristine reefs before you return south by boat over the reefs back to Cairns.

This trip is suitable for Advanced Divers (not ideal for snorkellers.) - Adventure diving, 75 miles beyond the Great Barrier Reef to the remote Coral Sea. Requires competent divers comfortable in exposed sea conditions on deep walls with some current. As a scuba diver, you can expect to encounter the enormous giant clams, golden gorgonian fans, and clouds of colourful tropical fish, as well as cruising pelagics, moray eels, green turtles, reef sharks and the giant Napoleon Wrasse.
The The Cod Hole lies at the top of the Ribbon Reefs, and is home to a family of resident Potato Cod (Groper). These diver friendly fish will amaze you with their sheer size and seeming eagerness to pose for camera. It’s then on to the even more remote outer reefs of Osprey and/ or Bougainville Reefs. Here you will dive with sharks, mantras and schools of pelagics against sheer walls laced with gorgonian fans and visibility of 30-100 metres. Spectacular!
At 37 metres in length, this is one of Australia's largest live aboard dive vessels, and features electronic stabilisers, wide screen TVs, comfortable lounge areas, sun decks, and spacious cabins with en-suite bathrooms.

4 Share: 4 single beds, bunk style, wardrobe, with bathroom

Stateroom: Very spacious cabin with queen bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers, 2 bedside tables, TV/DVD, CD, with bathroom
Ocean View: Smaller cabin with double bed, wardrobe, 1 bedside table, TV/VCR, CD stereo, with bathroom
Ocean View Deluxe: Very large cabin, with double bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers, 2 bed side tables, TV/DVD, CD stereo, with bathroom
Single Occupancy Cabin…Double the twin or double share rates, then deduct $250 if you prefer sole occupancy.

Tour Itinerary:
Thursday: Around 07:30am this morning a courtesy coach will transfer you from your Cairns city hotel to Hinterland Aviation at Cairns General Aviation Airport. Here you will board a twin-engine light aircraft for your scenic flight up the coast to Lizard Island. The crew will greet you on arrival and escort you via tender to the vessel. After an orientation of the vessel we depart for Ribbon Reef Number 10. This afternoon we will have the opportunity for two dives at a choice of sites including the Cod Hole, Challenger Bay, Lighthouse Bommie, Pixie Gardens, and Pixie Pinnacle. We depart in the evening for a 10 hour crossing to Osprey Reef in the Coral Sea.
Friday & Saturday: Two days will be spent diving Osprey Reef (weather permitting). Australia's Coral Sea reefs are renown for crystal clear water with visibility ranging 30 to 100 metres. The landscape is amazing with sheer walls laced with gorgonians, sea whips, and bright yellow soft corals, rising from the ocean floor thousands of feet below. 'North Horn' is a dive site at the tip of Osprey is a site where grey reef sharks, silvertips, and the occasional oceanic congregate, and you can experience a close encounter with the Spirit of Freedom shark attraction dive. 4 to 5 dives will be available each day, including a night dive on the Friday. See the dive site page for site selection of some of our dive sites at Osprey Reef. On Saturday night we will depart Osprey Reef for overnight travel to the Ribbon Reefs.
Sunday: At Ribbon Reefs Number 3 we will dive such sites as the sensational Steve's Bommie, Temple of Doom, and Flare Point. A second option for this day, in special weather conditions, is to head south from Opsrey to Bougainville Reef, known for its unusual underwater landscape or caverns, and its partially submerged wreck. On Sunday evening we will cruise overnight back to Cairns.
Monday: We arrive back into Cairns at 06:30am. Enjoy a light breakfast on board and a group photo opportunity before being dropped back to your Cairns hotel around 08.00am.
