This tour allows you to see the highlights of the Cape York area in a three day tour by air plane. It is a very unique tour and one of the best ways to cover the vast distances in a shorter amount of time. You will spend one day and night at Horn Island in the Torres Strait Islands, and one night in Weipa. All meals from lunch on day 1 to lunch on day 3 are included.

Tour Itinerary:

Day 1: Pick up from your accommodation in Cairns, then departing Cairns Airport at 8.30am, your flight takes you over the reef to Cooktown. A historical tour takes you from Captain James Cook's visit in 1770 through the gold rush days to todays relaxed lifestyle. After lunch you will fly north over Lizard Island, the Outer Reef, Wilderness lands, Cape York, the northern tip of Australia to the Torres Strait Islands. Here you will spend one night and reflect on what an amazing day it has been. Accommodation: Gateway Resort or similar if unavailable. Private room with ensuite.

Day 2: You will tour Thursday Island, with views of Friday Island, with its pearling station and surrounding islands of Prince of Wales, Horn, Good & Hammond. Then, you will fly over the Torres Strait Islands and across the gulf to Weipa. This little known region is a haven for Barramundi and prawn spawning, crocodiles and numerous river deltas. Accommodation: Albatross Hotel in Weipa or similar if unavailable. Private room with ensuite.

Day 3: Weipa. We see the bauxite mining operation of Comalco, an enterprise to be admired.  You will fly to Musgrave for lunch, over the inland towns of Coen and Laura, and you will see the inland river systems of Cape York on the way back to Cairns.

What to take:
Bring three days of casual gear, a hat, light jacket and a light travel bag.

Booking Policy

Full refunds apply if weather causes the trip to be cancelled or if the minimum of four passengers is not achieved for the tour you book.

Please advise weights of each passenger at the time of booking.

Cancellation by you will result in the loss of your deposit as a cancellation fee.

Cancellations occurring less than 14 days prior to departure will incur the following charges: 14-7 days prior 75% of Total, 7 Days or less 100% of Total Price.
