This two day tour package includes two of the best tours there are to do in Cairns; the Great Barrier Reef, and the famous Kuranda Train and Skyrail. The tours are suitable for people of all ages and apart from the reef cruise, which is walking distance from Cairns city hotels, you will be picked up and dropped off  to your hotel, making it very convenient.

Departure Dates: These two tours can start on any day of the year subject to availability. It is however a good idea to book in advance. There is no minimum number of people required. You can start or end the Kuranda tour at Cairns airport for an extra $20 per person if you request.  This tour package can operate everyday of the year except for the 2nd day of the package on following dates due to maintenance, or closure of either the Train or Skyrail parts of the tour: 23/26/27/30 May, 29 Aug, 3/4 Nov, 8/9, 19/20 & 25 Dec.

More Information:

The tours can be taken in any order you like and there is no minimum number of people required. You can ask us to book a three, four or five star hotel as part of the package if you wish.

Inclusions and highlights:

Great Barrier Reef Pontoon tour (10am - 5.30pm) - stroll down to the marina for your cruise to the outer edge of the reef where the floating platform/ pontoon awaits you. From there you’ll have the option to go snorkelling, or see the reef through a semi submarine coral viewing tour, or glass bottom boat, or underwater observatory or all of the above. Includes morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea. There is also the option to try (at extra cost) a scenic helicopter ride above the reef, scuba diving or “Seawalker” to enhance your day out at the reef.

Kuranda Scenic Train and Skyrail Tour (9am - 4pm) - including Cairns pick up and all transport. This tour takes you on one of Australia’s most scenic, famous and historical train journeys from Cairns to Kuranda - the village in the rainforest. You’ll also experience the world’s longest gondola journey (7.5km) from Kuranda down to Cairns. Enroute in both directions you will see the famous Barron Falls and take in some amazing panoramic views from the rainforest to the sea. You can also be picked up or dropped off at the airport with this tour for an extra $20 if you don't have two full days free time.

Tour Departure times:
Great Barrier Reef Pontoon tour: 10.00am
Kuranda Scenic Train and Skyrail Tour: 9am. You can also be picked up or dropped off at the airport with this tour for an extra $20 at any time before 1pm, if you don't have two full days free time.

Return time:
Great Barrier Reef Pontoon tour: 5.30pm
Kuranda Scenic Train and Skyrail Tour: Approximately 4pm

Pickup or Departure Point Details:
For day one, you can make your own way to the Cairns cruise terminal for check in. if you require hotel transfers from Cairns hotels it will cost $15 per person, and $20 per person from Cairns' beaches hotels.
For day two, return hotel transfers are included from Cairns hotels but from Cairns beaches hotels it will cost an extra $12 per adult and $6 per child.

Optional Extras:
10 minute Scenic Helicopter flight while at the reef = $148
10 minute introductory scuba dive = $140 or $180 for 2 dives
Seawalker Platform Helmet Dive = $140
40 minute certified Scuba Dive = $80 or $140 for 2 dives

Regarding Scuba Diving:
Some medical conditions will prevent you from diving. Some of the more common conditions are Asthma, Diabetes, Epilepsy and heart or lung conditions. Pregnancy is also a contraindication to diving. Some other medical conditions may also be a problem. If you are unsure about any specific condition please contact us.

What is not included:
Meals and drinks unless included in the day’s itinerary or features described above.

Booking Policy

Amendments to the dates of travel can be made with at least 48 hours notice.

Cancellation Policy:
·30 – 3 days prior to travel, a 25% cancellation fee applies
·Less than 3 days prior to travel, a 100% cancellation fee applies
A $50 per person administration fee applies to every cancellation greater than 30 days prior to the date of travel.
