The most comprehensive tag-along tour, this Cape York Tour covers a large area and you won't find anything else like it. This is a fully catered and escorted tag-along Cape York tour and some have described it as the "ultimate Cape York tour". The maximum number of customer vehicles in the convoy will be nine.

How to Book: A Deposit of $200.00 per adult is required to confirm your place with the balance due 49 days before departure. The minimum number of vehicles per trip required for the trip to run is 5. The maximum number is 9.
Tour Itinerary:
Day 1. ATHERTON – CHILLAGOE Depart at 8.00 am for an interesting day driving through old mining areas. We travel through Herberton, stop to see rarely visited Aboriginal Rock Art and the old Lancelot mine before arriving at Irvinebank. An informative visit to the the Irvinebank Mining Museum is arranged. Then on to Chillagoe, the site of an ancient coral reef.
Day 2. CHILLAGOE – MITCHELL RIVER After an optional tour of one of the Limestone Caves at Chillagoe, and a visit to the Historical Mining Site, you will travel through cattle stations to camp on the mighty Mitchell River. Here you can have a refreshing swim.
Day 3. MITCHELL RIVER - HANN RIVER R’HOUSE Travelling through more cattle country, we cross the Palmer River and join the Peninsula Development Road. Overnight camp is at the Hann River Roadhouse.
Day 4. HANN RIVER – BATAVIA GOLDFIELDS Today’s travel will take us to the Musgrave Roadhouse which was once a fortified Telegraph Repeater Station: built in 1887. We continue on to the historic gold mining town of Coen with lunch and a swim in the Coen River, and then on to the Abandoned Batavia Goldfields for our bush camp.
Day 5. BATAVIA – CHILLI BEACH This short drive will take several hours. We pass through stark mountains, cross the beautiful Pascoe River and magnificent rainforest. A free afternoon then to soak up the beach, explore the area, or search for the rare Palm Cockatoo. At sunset we will enjoy nibbles on the beach while we watch the spectacular return of the metallic starlings. During WW2 the 5th Fleet was anchored at nearby Portland Roads.
Day 6. CHILLI BEACH – WEIPA From the East Coast to the West Coast today as we backtrack to the Peninsula Development road, while the more adventurous might like to take the old Frenchman’s Track. Weipa has beautiful sunsets due to the bauxite mined there.
Day 7. WEIPA – MORETON TELEGRAPH STATION This morning there is an organised tour of the Weipa Bauxite Mine (optional). Weipa has one of the world’s largest bauxite deposits. We can also arrange for a half day’s fishing. After lunch at ‘The Lakes’ we join the route of the Old Telegraph Track to Moreton Telegraph Station.
Day 8. MORETON– DULHUNTY FALLS ON THE OLD TELEGRAPH TRACK (or BERTIE CREEK) Today there will be some challenging four wheel driving as you cross pristine creeks in this unique wilderness. You can look forward to a swim at our campsite.
Day 9. DULHUNTY FALLS (BERTIE CK) – VYRILA POINT More creek crossings today as we continue on to Fruit Bat Falls for a short stop. We join the Northern Bypass Road and then head west to our Beach Camp at North Vyrila Point
Day 10 VYRILA POINT – CAPE YORK (SEISIA) This is a short driving day. We cross the Jardine River on the ferry before arriving at Seisia on the shores of Torres Strait. Good fishing can be had off the wharf, or special fishing charters can be arranged. We spend three nights at Seisia.
Day 11. SEISIA This is a free day which gives you the opportunity to visit Thursday Island or Horn Island (optional) or spend however you wish. Your crew will advise you.
Day 12. SEISIA- TOP OF CAPE YORK (THE TIP) Today we reach our goal and visit the most northerly point of the Australian mainland. We then visit the site of historical Somerset, the first Government outpost on Cape York, and with Lockerbie, the home of legendary Jardines.
Day 13. SEISIA – ELIOT FALLS Today it’s Muttee Heads and the mouth of the Jardine River on the West Coast before arriving at Eliot Fallss. You will have time to relax and explore this beautiful area. You will be able to swim in the crystal clear pools in one of the most picturesque spots on the Cape.
Day 14. ELIOT FALLS – CAPTAIN BILLY’S LANDING – BRAMWELL JUNCTION While we retrace some of the track we drove over earlier, we also explore a new track through spectacular rainforest to the majestic sandhills of Captain Billy’s Landing for lunch. We return on the Bypass track, visit the Edmund Kennedy Memorial, and drive through huge termite mounds to our camp.
Day 15. BRAMWELL JUNCTION – STEWART RIVER We travel back through historic Coen and enjoy a swim in a waterholw close by. Visit the Coen museum and then on to our camp on the Stewart River.
Day 16 STEWART RIVER – LAKEFIELD NATIONAL PARK Today we continue along an old Coach Road, past an isolated station homestead and through Lakefield National Park, a haven for birds and animals. Fresh and saltwater crocodiles lurk beneath the tranquil lagoons covered in beautiful water lilies. There is normally an abundance of birdlife, a unique palm, and perhaps the opportunity to spot a crocodile lazing in the sun. We camp at Kalpower.
Day 17. LAKEFIELD – BATHURST BAY Today is a short but sometimes difficult drive to Bathurst Bay for our overnight beach camp and a chance for some beach fishing.
DAY 18. BATHURST BAY - JOWALBINNA Backtrack through Lakefield to Kalpower Crossing. 4X4 to Jowalbinna.
Day 19 JOWALBIINNA There is plenty to do here: Guided Aboriginal Painting walk (optional); walk on cliff rim;, Little Laura River; self walk to Aboriginal paintings; Optional 4X4 drive on Old Maytown track to the top of the range then return. Swimming.
Day 20. JOWALBINNA – ENDEAVOUR FALLS Today we travel through Laura township. Enjoy an historic walk and the Interpretative Centre. We join the Battle Camp Road and visit Isabella Falls before reaching our overnight camp site at the Endeavour Falls Caravan park.
Day 21. ENDEAVOUR FALLS - COOKTOWN Depart at your own leisure and travel to Cooktown where you will be able to absorb this historic town where Captain cook beached the Endeavour for repairs in 1770.
Day 22. COOKTOWN – ATHERTON/CAIRNS Our last day will be spent travelling through the beautiful Cape Tribulation National Park. We visit Bloomfield Falls and cross the Daintree River ferry before returning to Atherton or Cairns.

Prices are per adult. If there are more 2 adults in the vehicle, there is a 10% discount for each adult in the vehicle after the 2nd person.
Children who are sharing the vehicle with two or more adults can pay $770 each. A child is classed as anyone between the age of 2 - 14 years.

Regarding toilets and showers: The escort vehicle carries a bush canvas toilet and shower which is erected at a few bush camp sites for the few times there are not fixed toilet and shower facilities. The bush toilet is generally a makeshift toilet seat above a whole in the ground. They way it works is that one buries their business after they are done with some lose dirt and a shovel. At first it may take some getting used to but after a few times, you will be a natural.
