The best way to experience the Great Barrier Reef is to spend a night out on it. Who knows what you might encounter? Reef Encounter is a 35 metre luxury catamaran designed for the utmost stability and comfort at sea. The perfect base to experience the wonders of the Great Barrier Reef. The vessel is air-conditioned throughout and features spacious decks as well as roomy dining and recreation areas. They even have an onboard spa. The large easy access water platform allows hassle free diving and snorkelling. The vessel features comfortable cabins all with private bathrooms. All of these features, combined with friendly, experienced crew makes Reef Encounter the ultimate diving and snorkelling adventure vessel.
Departure Dates: You can start this tour any day of the year however advance bookings are highly recommended. It departs Cairns at around 7.45am and returns to Cairns at around 4.30pm on the day of return.
How to book: You can book online via the rates table's "Add to Itinerary" button. Just click on it and follow the prompts. Or, you call to book on + 61 7 4044 9792 from outside Australia or 1800 681 685 (free call) from within Australia. A 25% deposit payment is required at time of booking. The balance is payable two days before the day of travel. Government reef tax, fuel levy & port charges of $20 per person per day at sea are included in the prices in the rates table below. Once your booking is confirmed and deposit payment received, a booking confirmation will be emailed to you shortly after.

Departure Day
7:45am - Marlin Jetty, welcome onboard our new high speed air-conditioned catamaran. Complimentary coffee & tea and breakfast.
8:00am - Depart Marlin Jetty, Cairns for a quick one hour transfer on our fast catamaran to your Liveaboard vessel for the next 1 or 2 nights. Scuba Dive & Snorkel briefing.
9:00am – 9:30am Arrive Outer Barrier Reef Reef. Scuba Dive, snorkel, sunbake & relax.
3:00pm - Cruise to Hastings, Norman or Saxon Reef for the night. Scuba diving, snorkeling, sunbake & relaxation time.
Dinner, Night scuba dive & relaxation time.
Return Day
6:30am - Scuba Dive & Breakfast
10:30am - Cruise to new spectacular outer barrier Reef location. Scuba diving, snorkelling & sunbaking, relaxing time.
1:00pm - Lunch, departing guests transfer to the fast catamaran transfer boat.
1:45pm - Cruise to Breaking Patches, scuba dive, snorkel, sunbake, relax.
3:30pm - Depart Breaking Patches for Cairns, Complimentary Wine and Cheese.
4:30pm - Arrive back in Cairns
Room Types:
Multishare Cabins: 2 or 3 beds per cabin, with own ensuite. Ideal for people travelling alone.
Staterooms: 1 double or 2 single beds per cabin with ensuite. Double beds can only be booked by couples.
"Top Deck Club" Staterooms: 1 double or 2 single beds per cabin with private bathroom, located on the Top Deck. Top deck service includes: Champagne on arrival, Sunset Cocktails with our Skipper, Fresh fruit platter, Dinner under the stars, Turn Down service, and other nice surpises.. we don't want to reveal them all.
