If you are short on time, you want to see the tip of Australia, and are not fussed on travelling the 4WD only track from Cairns to Cape York, then this may be the package for you.

With this package you fly from Cairns to Bamaga in Queensland's far north on day 1, then on day 2 you do a 4WD tour to the tip of Queensland and on day 3, you take a ferry to Thursday Island and Horn Island, and after a day there, you fly from Horn Island back to Cairns. This package is also available as a 4 Day Cape York and Torres Strait Islands Tour Package.

There is also a two day Cape York tour option if you are short on time.

Departure Dates: (April - November) Every Monday or Wednesday at 8am, or Tuesday at 1.30pm. Starts from Cairns Airport, with check in one hour prior to the departure time. Returns to Cairns airport on the fourth day at 5.30pm. Either return hotel transfers from Cairns hotels or airport car parking for three days are included in the price of the tour package.

How to Book: Full payment is required to secure the booking. This package can run with a minimum of one person. The maximum number of people we can book at one time on one date, is 6 people. Tour Itinerary:

All fares include meals as per itinerary code: (B) Breakfast, (L) Lunch and (D) Dinner. All accommodation costs and entrance fees as per itinerary.

Day 1 of Cape York tour: (L, D)

For Monday and Wednesday departures: This morning at 6.30am, you will either be picked up from your hotel in Cairns or you will make your own way to Cairns Airport Car Parking and they will drop you off to the front of the domestic airport. Check in for your flight to Bamaga at 7.00am. This morning you will take a flight from Cairns at 8am, arriving to Bamaga at 10.05am.

For Tuesday departures: At 12noon, you will either be picked up from your hotel in Cairns or you will make your own way to Cairns Airport Car Parking and they will drop you off to the front of the domestic airport. Check in for your flight to Bamaga at 12.30pm. This afternoon you will take a flight from Cairns at 1.30pm, arriving to Bamaga at 3.30pm.

You will be met at the Bamaga airport by a staff member from Loyalty Beach campground and fishing lodge. The first day is yours to explore on your own. You may wish to go fishing for the day with a professional local guide (optional - Costs around $400 - $460 on a sole charter basis). If you would prefer an overland tour to be arranged the first day, it can be done on a sole charter basis only, with a four hour tour to Muttee Heads and other places of interest in and around Bamaga, costing around $480 for 1 - 6 people.

Day 2: (B, L, D) Today you will take a 4WD tour with your guide all the way to the tip of Australia. The tour runs from 8am - 4pm and includes pick up and drop off to your accommodation. Points of interest: Somerset Beach, The local indigenous communities of the Northern Peninsula Area, Lockerbie Homestead, The Tip of Australia, Croc Tent, DC3 plane crash site, and more. The tour is conducted by an experienced guide familiar with Cape York flora and fauna, and includes a lunch and light refreshments at a pristine location. Overnight in a twin share room (shared bathroom).

Day 3: (B, L) After an early breakfast, you will be dropped off at Seisa wharf for the 8am ferry to Thursday Island (duration 1 hour). On arrival, you will enjoy a guided tour of the island (included) starting at 09:30am. After your tour, you will catch a ferry at 11.15am to Horn Island (duration 15 minutes). From there you will be met by a local guide who will show you the sights of the island and give you a nice lunch before taking you to the airport (all included) for your flight departing at 3:30pm to fly over The Great Barrier Reef to Cairns ending your fascinating safari of adventure and discovery in Australia’s far north. The safari terminates at Cairns airport at 5.30pm.

Baggage Limits

The free checked baggage allowance is one piece not exceeding 20kg per passenger (except infants under 2 years not occupying a seat). The total linear measurement must not exceed 140cm (add together the depth, width and length).

The free cabin baggage allowance is one piece not exceeding 4kg per passenger (except infants under 2 years not occupying a seat).The total linear measurement must not exceed 105 cm (add together the depth, width and length). Due to the size of the aircraft cabin storage is limited. Check-in staff at all ports are required to sight all carry-on baggage.

Excess Baggage charges will apply for any baggage that is in excess of the free baggage allowance.
