The Half Day Tour is the most popular 4WD Rainforest Safari departing from Cape Tribulation, and takes in the best scenery between Cape Tribulation and the 40m Bloomfield Falls. You travel by air conditioned Toyota Landcruiser and stop regularly to admire the views and experience the area. Only 8 are taken in each group. As much time as possible is spent outside the 4WD.
Your other option is to take a full day 4WD tour, going all the way from Cape Tribulation to Cooktown. Cooktown is a beautiful town, unspoiled by mass tourism, and has a rich and exciting history, both Aboriginal and European. Have you heard of the Normanby Woman or Mrs.Watson? The Cooktown Railway? Come and learn more about this fascinating area. The 4WDriving ranges from extreme to easy, depending on the season.

On the full day Cooktown tour, we aim to give you at least two hours in Cooktown, but usually we can offer up to three hours. Road conditions are usually the deciding factor. Cooktown is friendly to the walker and most places can be reached by foot. Your guide will be happy to drop you off at the more distant spots like Nature’s Powerhouse should you wish to visit. We carry a number of publications about the history of Cooktown and these can be used as reference for those who have particular historical interest. ‘Pubs and Publicans of Cooktown’ is always popular!
