MV Trinity Bay departs Cairns every Tuesday subject to weather and cargo considerations, to be confirmed on booking and again prior to departure. The voyage ends in Cairns five nights later on the following Sunday. Most cabins are booked out during high season from April to October, around 12 months in advance. During the hotter months, from November to March, when you can't reach the tip of Queensland by road, this is a good alternate way of getting there. The itinerary is subject to weather and cargo considerations, but generally it stops at Horn Island, Thursday Island and Seisa wharves.

Boarding each Tuesday from Cairns is at 10.00am at Wharf 8, located on Dutton Street, Cairns. Returns Sunday(return time is subject to weather and cargo considerations). During the wet season Nov - April some optional tours may not operate.

How to Book:  A Deposit of $400 per adult is required to confirm your place with the balance due 60 days before departure. Bookings made within 60 days of the travel date must be paid in full within 72 hours.  You can book online via the rates table's "Add to Itinerary" button. Click on it and follow the prompts, or, call to book on  1800 681 685 (free call) from within Australia.  Your booking confirmation/ receipt will be emailed to you shortly after your booking request and deposit payment has been received.

PASSENGER INFORMATION
WHAT IS INCLUDED
All meals and linen are included in the cost of your voyage. Each passenger will be given one bath towel for the duration of their voyage. A selection of videos, books, board games and cards are available for use in the television room.
WHAT IS NOT INCLUDED
Transfers to and from the vessel, extra luggage/cargo, and personal holiday insurance is not included in the cost of the voyage. Any personal items such as drinks, souvenirs and tours can be purchased on board the vessel. There are no guest laundry facilities.
CABINS
All cabins have single bunk style beds, compact luggage and storage area and a small hand basin.
All accommodation areas are air-conditioned.
CLOTHING - WHAT TO BRING
Casual clothing (T-shirt & shorts), shoes, hat, sunglasses, camera, sunscreen, insect repellant and toiletries. A jumper or jacket would be useful when on the sun deck during the evening.
LUGGAGE
One suitcase and/or overnight bag is allowed per person in the cabin. Extra luggage will be transported with cargo and charged accordingly.
PAYMENT FACILITIES ON BOARD
Cash, Eftpos and Credit Cards are accepted on board. There are ATM‟s located on Horn Island and Thursday Island.
SMOKING
Smoking is NOT permitted in accommodation areas and cargo decks. There is a designated smoking area on the sun deck.
ALCOHOL
MV Trinity Bay has a licensed bar. All alcohol consumed on board the vessel must be purchased from the bar.
MEALS (A typical schedule and menu)
Breakfast: 7:00am
Continental - cereals, toast, fresh fruit, yogurt, tea, coffee, juice
Hot - eggs, bacon, sausages, grilled tomato
Lunch: 12:15pm
Selection of hot dishes and salads with bread/rolls.
Dinner: 6:15pm
Soup and a selection of hot dishes, vegetables and a dessert.
All meals are served buffet style.
Self service tea and coffee facilities are available at all times.
Cakes/biscuits/scones are served at morning tea and a selection of savory snacks late afternoon.

Sailing Itinerary:
The MV Trinity Bay operates a weekly service between Cairns and Seisia Wharf (Bamaga). All meals are included
Tuesday - Departs Cairns late afternoon, with passenger boarding at 10.00am. Before departure,passengers receive a full briefing from the purser.
Wednesday- At sea. Tour of wheel house with the ship‟s Master (dependent on conditions). During the trip, passengers can expect to see coral cays, islands, rugged coastlines, other vessels, lighthouses and the possibility of whales in season (June to September).
Thursday Morning - Arrives at Horn Island to transfer freight. Passengers have the option of partaking in a tour of the island (dependent on conditions).
Thursday Afternoon - Arrives Thursday Island to transfer cargo. Some passengers will leave us here and new passengers may join us. Those staying on can enjoy time at leisureon the island or partake in an optional tour (dependent on conditions).
Friday Morning - Arrives at Seisia Wharf to transfer cargo. Some passengers will leave us here. Those staying on can enjoy time at leisure or partake in an optional tour to the "Tip‟ (dependent on conditions). New passengers will join us for the southbound journey.
Friday - Departs Seisia for travel directly to Cairns. Departure time will depend on tides.
Saturday - At sea.
Sunday - Arrives Cairns. Arrival time depends on conditions

TOURS AVAILABLE - PAYABLE ON BOARD
THURSDAY ISLAND TOUR – HEART OF THE TORRES STRAIT
During this tour you will embark upon a „Local History‟ tour of the Island with a local expert guide. Your guide will take you to places of cultural significance, tell you about the history of the local clans of the area, a bit of natural history and you will get a chance to try some local delicacies. See the Green Hill Fort structure and have the islands identified and their cultural significance. The tour finishes with a basket weaving and or a traditional dance demonstration.
Adults: $25.00 per person *Minimum of 6 Adults.
HORN ISLAND - IN THEIR STEPS TOUR
Walk in the steps of those who served on the Island during WW2, both American and Australian. The information imparted to you is a mix of actual veterans stories, combined with official records. The final stop is the Gateway Torres Strait Resort where you can stroll through the Torres Strait Heritage Museum, which has the largest collection of WW2, cultural and artistic items in the Torres Strait.
Adults: $40.00 per person *Minimum of 6 Adults.
BAMAGA - CAPE YORK TOUR
Enjoy a guided 4WD tour to the northern most tip of Australia via Lockerbie. Morning / Afternoon tea is provided. Please note this tour requires 1hr drive & a 30min walk to the tip. Passengers will require closed in shoes with a moderate fitness level.

The maximum number of passengers per voyage is 36.

Ensuite Cabins: 2 x Quad share, 2 x triple share, 1 x twin share.
Shared bathroom: 2 x quad, 4 x triple share.
If there is more than 2 people per cabin, then someone will need to use the top bunk.

Booking Policy

Cancellation policy is as follows:
(i) Cancellations confirmed more than 30 days before the sailing date - full refund, less a $200 perperson administration fee.
(ii) Cancellations between 30 and 14 days of sailing - forfeiture of deposit
(iii) Cancellations between 14 and 7 days of sailing - 50% of total fares
(vi) Cancellations within 7 days of sailing or nonboarding at time of
sailing - 100% of total fare.
