More Information:

Novice scuba divers can join the optional "Introductory Scuba Diving" program which is an excellent way to see the Great Barrier Reef - with pre-dive tuition, close underwater supervision, dive recognition card and certificate included. The introductory dives generally last around 20-30 minutes each. If diving is not your thing, why not try the semi submersible (at an extra cost $10)

The Cairns Reef Cruise departs daily from the Cairns marina at 8.30am and takes 90 minutes to arrive at the first or two reef locations - for a combined 5 hours at the reef. Or, if this seems a bit long, for a little extra cost, why not sleep in and take a 12pm helicopter flight from the Cairns helicopter port, to join the boat in just 20 minutes - and still have 2 hours free time at the reef! Alternatively, you may want to fly back from the reef to the mainland and get back by 4.45pm. It's a great view from above in the helicopter and a nice way to treat yourself to something special!
