Port Douglas is around an hours drive north of the city of Cairns and Cairns airport. The advantage of staying in Port Douglas is that it has the charm of a small village located beside a beautiful beach yet there is plenty of fine dining and shopping to be enjoyed.

The Daintree National Park region is famous for being one of the oldest world heritage listed rainforests in the world. Just another 2 hours north of Port Douglas, the Daintree region is a ‘must-see’ for many visitors, which can be done either as a day tour or an overnight tour from Cairns or Port Douglas.

Cape Tribulation is a place within the Daintree National Park where most of the Daintree holiday accommodation is located, as this is where the rainforest meets the reef.
